Who's surprised? When they announced this fight, I think most reasonable people said "Bautista's so green...but, who knows..."

As for Gonzalez, his biomechanics clearly are no substitute for a responsible defense, as IV already showed us.

Speaking of IV, let's see PDL take the winner of the rubbermatch. :bbb As for Penalosa, good for him, but hopefully he doesn't try to keep the flame burning too long.

Yes, most people said "who knows" in accordance to Bautista-Ponce.. but you and I said "Bautista easily gets KTFO".:good

dude, even boomboom was not surprised. i knew that his chin was suspect but i didn't know he'd go out in the 1st. i thought he'd last 3 rounds. anyway, the gyu is young. hopefully he bounces back and works on his defense. he should ask gerry to train him defensively.

if boomboom had a defense and chin half of what gerry has, he'd be in good shape

I'm not surprised that Rey was KO'd although I thought it would be a little later. I am very surprised that Gerry KO'd Gonzalez

The Boom-Boom thing, not surprised, thought he'd last longer, but he got nailed with a few good shots before the first KD, and that KD punch was pretty damn good.

The Gonzalez loss though was a surprise, Gonzalez is a good fighter, and he was schooling Penalosa up until that shot. I'd put money on Gonzalez in a rematch even.

Feeding a baby to a lion..what a missmatch in manhood seriously. That kids head is too fresh to be getting hit by a beast like deleon. Let the kid break his brain cells in with some experience then go in there...jezz that was sad

gonzales was winning due to activity and volume punching. gerry definitely had the more precise, cleaner shots landed. if there is a re-match, gonzales can only win via decision as gerry has never been kd'd and ko'd in his 55+ fights. or maybe gerry knocks gonzales out again w/ a precision shot. gerry probably has the best skills of any filipino fighter ever. he's already a 3-time champ.

I have been suspicious about Bautista's chin but I always thought it will be improved. Pac's chin used to be a suspect too.

I was thinking if PDL landed a good punch right on the button, that Bautista may be in trouble but I never gave it a high probability of happening. But it did

I hope Bautista bounces back, he is still very young .

Penalosa was clearly stronger than Gonzalez. His punches were much crisper and his defense was way better. That said, he needed to step in much more than he did. The main reason he trailed was because he allowed JG to control the distance and range way too much. Gerry stopped and threw too far away. Jhonny moved too much and threw too much, and needed to sit down on his punches more. He fought the same kind of fight against Vazquez and got KO'd. I'd say the way he moved so much and didn't want to commit to his punches all that much says that he sensed Gerry's strength.

Fight kind of reminded me of Mickey Ward v. Alfonso Sanchez - one guy looks like he's coasting to a decision, and then boom, body shot.

Is this the era of the body KO or what? ODH-Hopkins, That guy who took a dive with Barrios, Gatti and that one dude, Hatton-Castillo. Nobody can take one to the body these days. Sheesh.

i would just like to ask when did Pac's chin become suspect?
If i remember correctly he was only went down twice. one was from a body shot when he was sixteen years old and the other when he was exhausted before the fight from trying to make weight in thailand.
