    I find it quite impressive to take on such opposition at such an early time (6th fight, his first 12 rounder was at his 4th fight)

    Is there any other famous examples of boxers who were taking on very big opposition or were champions very early in their career?

    Peter Rademacher fought Floyd Patterson for the world heavyweight title in his very first pro fight.

    Leon Spinks won the World Heavyweight Boxing Championships in his 8th pro fight by beating none other than Muhammad Ali.

    But I guess most everyone on this forum know that.
