be decent, haven't seen too much of Belfort's work, but I think Machida would win by decision

Would be a great fight. I think Belfort maybe too fast for him especially if he gets Machida's timing down like Shogun did. Belfort would blast his face off if he did. I am much more interested in a Belfort/Silva fight right now though.

Id expect it to be kinda boring but guys wait to counter alittle to much. Machida needs a guy to attack him consistently.

It would be awesome. This fight would be a stand up war cuz both loves to strike.

sorry but I see this fight going to the ground.

both machida and vitor are black belts in bjj. machida I believe would eventually win in the stand up, but would probably see it as to risky considering vitor's hand speed and power. which one of these guys has better ground skills? I have seen machida's but really haven't actually seen vitor submit anyone.

vitor does have submission wins over 3/25/2001 Bobby Southworth, (rear naked choke) and 12/21/1997 Joe Charles(armbar). both in the first round. question is who are those guys, and does it matter considering it was 10 years ago.

machida has two submission wins as well 12/29/2007 Rameau Sokoudjou (Arm-Triangle Choke) and 3/14/2004 Michael McDonald. (Forearm Choke)

seems like a good match up ts it really is a toss up, I would say that the longer the fight goes on the better for machida. probably by submission, vitor wins it would most likely be early ko not unlike the latest shogun fight.

sorry about the long post but I do find this matchup interesting and wanted to find an distinct advantage for either fighter, I cant find one. love to see the fight maybe more than silva vs belfort.

Belfort us the type of striker you don't **** around with. You don't try to time this guys striking because there isn't anything to time or set up, he is extremely fast, doesn't telegraph much, and will knock you silly with one shot..

Machida wouldn't even try to stand with him, if he did, he'd get knocked out trying to time counters. He would be smart to smother Belfort and take him to the ground. Work a long fight where there aren't many exchanges, but a lot of body locks, takedowns and battling for dominant position.. Basically, wall and stall, lay n pray, go for subs for Machida.

For Belfort, it's to employ Shoguns strategy.. Belfort is probably the only guy who could do what Shogun did, better.. Problem with Belfort is, you never know which version of him will show up... The guy that finishes the fight in moments, or the guy who never gets off, fights defensive and is gun shy...

An aggressive Belfort isn't something anybody can really **** with.

Vitor by KO in R2! The first round would be a very cagey affair.
