There was a talk of a 3rd fight after Benn beat McClellan, if Benn fought Eubank before Collins got to him, who would win?

I think Nigel’s come out and said Eubank had his number. I think he always has the edge in this one.

Eubank hurts him badly. Benn was terribly shot after that fight.

But Benn aged quicker, his last few fights he was a shell of what he was.

Maybe, but Eubank never scored a KO ever again from 95 onwards.

The McClellan fight seemed to drain Nigel physically and mentally.

His first fight after it was against a guy called Danny - I forget his surname - but I remember how unBennlike Nigel looked.

I really wish Nigel had called a halt after McClellan. He could never top that amazing night and it's not fair to expect him to get that mental edge which was so integral to his style when he'd nearly killed someone. Chris too. He was never the same after the Michael Watson fight. A third fight might have tarnished the rivalry slightly which would have been a shame as their fights are held in the upper echelons of British boxing.

Your right, Edd. I remember that fight after McClellan, Benn got the job done but didn't look special.
There was no place after that imo for Benn to go. Collins got him at the right time.
A third fight with Eubank makes Nigel look bad for me.

Benn was totally shot after McClellan Eubank had more left and would of stopped him mid rounds. Benn was up to allsorts with the Essex boys back then . He is lucky to still be alive .

I tend to lean towards Eubank at this point. With him, he lost his killer instinct after the second Watson fight and coasted to points wins doing just enough and no longer looking for the finish but he wasn’t physically shot whereas Nigel was both physically and mentally ruined by the McClellan fight.

Eubank wins in either a turgid points affair or by late rounds TKO.
