Awesome article. I remember it took 2 or 3 days to even find out the result of the fight over here. Same with the Monzon fight. Ah, the good old days. I also miss the hell out of my Briscoe avatar on this site
P.F.P. "Bad" Bennie Briscoe easily ranks within the top 20 of real good (if not great which he almost was) fighters to have never won a coveted World Title, which was something he at least had the blessed opportunity to fight for three time in memorable outings against Carlos Monzon in '75 & Rodrigo Valdes twice, '77 & "78. Hey, my man B-Hop has done things tremendously in boxing during the post "Smokin" Joe Frazier era to help keep the city of Philadelphia on the map with the accomplishments that he's attained both in and out of the ring but "Bad" Bennie Briscoe, title or no title, was truly a pearl for the "City of Brotherly Love."
