Great video! Wow, what a character in boxing. I always respect gentlemen in the sport; not to mention a man of class like Benny.

I like the wide screen format.
The more I learn about him as a boxer and a person the greater my apricition of Benny Leonard grows. I realy wish there was more film aviable of him boxing.

Tough to say if he was the greatest Jewish boxer personally I feel it was Barney Ross.

Ross is number 1. Pound for pound. Benny is the lower half of the top ten if that, Only Armstrong, Canzi, Fitz, Walker, Greb, Robinson, and others would rank over Benny.

So how exactly does Ross rank above Armstrong?

Because Ross won and Held 3 weight titles a good 4 years before Armstrong.
Armstrong beat a shadow of the great Ross. It was like Marciano Louis.

3 worldtitles between 135 and 147 is alot different from 3 world titles between 126 and 147.

And a robbery from all accounts that would've had him holding 4, including the MW title. Also, he holds the record for title defenses at WW, with 19 I believe. Not to mention beat Ross, though he was past his prime.

Well Ross should get the credit first, before Armstrong repeated the 3 weight title thing. Sure Armstrong made a bigger jump. But Barney did the feat first. Just like Fitz won 3 weight titles first.
