well it wouldn't have been a gift. It was a close fight. I personally had it 7-5 for Ali

Ali was not a "Farewell Fight" kind of guy. He's someone who would definitely be thinking title shot in any circumstance. After Holmes, I'm surprised he did as well against Berbick as he did.

96-94 for Berbick was fair / legit...... Had Ali gotten the nod, I'd have puked.... I am a Ali ball-licker as well.... I scored Ali the **** hair winner over Young in '76.... Ali lost to Berbick in 1981 for real......

    So how did you score

    Ali Frazier I
    Ali Spinks I
    Ali Norton I
    and Ali Holmes.

Did you have Ali winning most of theses?

Was Ali leading on your scorecards vs Holmes before the fight was stop?

Cut the ****, Jack............ Ali lost them first fights with "Frazier, Norton & Stinks" back in 1971, 1973 and 1978........ Yet, Ali was game and made all three fights close.......
    :deal:bbb:thumbsup

That was the most popular shout. Ali did express that he wished to win the title for the 4th time and Weaver would have been the logical choice.

As I recall, the plan was to challenge Mike Weaver for his WBA title.

Deep down,I reckon Muhammad knew that any title fight was out of the question, and he wanted to go out fighting, not sitting on his stool as he was against Larry Holmes.
