Ok. Apparently I've been under a rock this past year. I missed this fight when it came off. Last night after coming home from my UPS shift I hopped onto HBO on demand. They have the top 10 fights of 2009 in there. I saw Berto Collazo on the list and figured I would check it out. Let me start off with...Great fight. I love a fight when it has alot of ebb and flow. You had bertos amazing speed and Collazos timing. Collazo did some great body work as well. When all was said and done i think I had it 7 rounds to 5 in Collazos favor. Add in the point for holding and I had Collazo well ahead. What were the thoughts on this fight here at ESB?
Fantastic fight and.... dare I say it... underrated. Every time I watch it, I score a point differently from before. Weird fallout: Berto got criticized tons by the writers for banging for so much of the fight, so in his next, he fought ugly. Ruiz-level ugly. And looked legitimately surprised that the writers scolded him for that, too.
one of the fights of the year, incredible fight very close I scored it a draw but it could've gone either way depending on what you wanted. Berto landed some hard shots and he came on strong in the 12th round, but 116-111 that Clancy had for Berto was BOGUS

The first time i scored it i had it 115-113 Berto I rewatched on demand HD but didn't bother to score since i knew it was a close fight and would rather enjoy the action
Ok just watched it. Berto-Collazo R1:.. 9-10 R2:.. 10-9 R3:.. 9-10 R4:.. 8-10 R5:.. 10-9 R6:.. 9-10 R7:.. 10-9 R8:.. 10-9 R9:.. 9-10 R10: 9-10 R11: 10-9 R12: 10-9 TOTAL: 113-114 Collazo by a point, no doubt. Only the sixth round was a bit difficult to score, but Berto fell into Collazo's trap after the first minute and controlled the rest of the round. He turned it around.
Incredibly good and close fight. Watched in 2 weeks ago on DVD since I had nothing better to do and rescored it for Collazo by a point orginally I had him by 3. I think the wider score had alot to do with me just badly wanting Collazo to win when I watched it live.
In no way a robbery, but I don't think Berto deserved the win in this one. As Lewis said during commentary, a loss sometimes helps a fighter improve. Berto should have done a lot better, he was definitely outsmarted by Collazo.
