This is the fight I want for Cotto, because I like him. He will bitchslap Berto with great ease, a spectacular KO. Bam. Career resurrected.
Extra holding, very questionable chin, not as much power and not as quick. I'm not sold at all on Berto, I think he's a hype job waiting to get crushed, and I'd rather see Cotto do it than anyone else at this moment. He's a true fighter who deserves all the paydays he can get, and a smashing victory over a name like Berto is all he needs to get back in the big money mix.
Berto reminds me of a far less durable, less skilled, less powerful, smaller version of Shane...Okay, he doesn't remind me of Shane at all but I think Cotto beats him. If he's not shot. I don't think Cotto beats Foreman though, because of the shape and style of Foreman.
After watch Cotto get his ass beat by Manny and by Clottey (but Arum making sure Cotto got the win), I say Berto has a good chance of getting a wide decision on Cotto or knocking his ass out.
I would love to say Cotto, but I really don't know. I believe that Berto is a hype job and I believe (like the majority on here) he will get exposed badly, but I don't know if a worn down Cotto could beat Berto right now. If we are talking about the Cotto before he lost his 0 there wouldn't be any question in my mind, but at this stage Berto might outpoint Cotto.
