HBO are showing this fight in a double header with Khan-McCloskey hopefully Sky will do the same. Berto v Ortiz is a "crossroads" fight for both fighters, I don't see where the loser goes next. I'm going with Berto but it could go either way, it's the flaws in both fighters that make the match up interesting, anything could happen.

I think Golden Boy has seen enough of Ortiz and realize his limitations now. It's time to cash in the chips and get something back now for the promotional firm.:deal

Berto beats him over 12. Maidana took something away from Ortiz (who previously I rated very highly). His fights against Nate and Peterson wasnt too impressive IMO. Nate was shot to ****, but Victor didn't seem to want to bang him out of there if I remember correctly. And against Peterson he had a great start but didn't capitalise (even tho I ha him winning the fight by a couple rounds).

Berto, while not great himself, is bigger, stronger, and is a proven WW. Funny enough, i believe Ortiz has the power to bang him outta there, but I don't think he'll mix it up as much due to the Maidana fight.

    Berto by razor thin decision.

If you look at it, almost everything is in Ortiz's favour. Berto is very ordinary I think. His footwork is poor, he's hideously inaccurate and when he does manage to land a big shot, he tries to replicate it continuously, and he isn't subtle about it either. Power is relatively even, possibly a bit of an advantage for Ortiz, Ortiz has better feet, he has greater accuracy, more variety and is much more composed. Fortunately for Berto, Ortiz looks like he couldn't give a ****, and that's a bigger advantage than any of Ortiz's.

Btw, anyone know if sky are showing this? If they are I'll pay for the PPV, if not I won't bother (meaning I'll buy it and be pissed off that I've caved in ala Haye - Harrison)
