Every time Berto's name comes up, a buch of people talk about his suspect chin. I've about 5 or 6 Berto fights, and don't see why his chin is questioned so much. I saw him get dropped by Rivera. However, that was a perfectly placed uppercut that he wasn't expecting. He showed no ill effects from the shot and dominated the rest of the fight.

Aside from that shot, I've never seen Berto hurt in there. He took alot of punches from Estrada without getting wobbled. Rodriguez has some good pop and he wasn't able to hurt Berto either. So what am I missing people? Is it simply the Rivera fight, or is there something else that has caused so many to question his chin?

He needs to fight some B to maybe B+ level fighters so we can measure what hes made out of. His chin better be above average though, he is a pretty stationary fighter so I mean it better be decent.

Rivera put him on the canvas last July(he was 23 going on 24). Regardless, he got right back up and didn't show any ill effects.

I've been thinking the same thing. Ppl think once you go down, you've got a suspect chin. And just because a fighter goes down, doesnt mean he was hurt.

Im thinking the same, there is no real evidence.

He had a defensive lapse and a puncher landed clean on him, didnt seem that hurt. Cant see any weakness there.

I thought however he was bashing Rivera by that stage and was on his way to a stoppage but after the KD he seemed to really back off the gas. Put that down to inexperience, he learnt from it im sure. But maybe, just maybe he was hurt some and mentally it took the wind out of his sails.

True alot of fighter's do go down. We'll see about Berto's chin. There are questions. He hasn't even been hit that much, certainly not by anyone who can really punch.

I think a lot of this stems from Larry Merchant mentioning Berto had chin issues in the amy's during the Figueroa fight. Seems like every since then people have been expecting to see another Michael Grant.
