James "Quick" Tillis was a decent "cute" fighter from this era.

Pontius... that single hook from Walcott to the chin of Marciano, has alarming similarities of the hook SRR landed on Basilio?? or Fulmer??

Same situation... both men apart for a moment.. and BANG!!!.. Precise hook lands. Unfortunately, Walcotts hook had a little less substance.

    lawrence clay bey?

i've only seen clips of him but from what i've heard he seemed a fairly slick, cute boxer.

I dont know if Walcott's hook had less substance, we seen him land it before with devstating effect...I think people underestimate Rocky's power to recup quickly, despite his subtle defence, Rocky was hit like Chris said' by a pin-point precision power punch. Walcott had a great hook (Charles will tell you) but he also had a hell of a right hand, sneaky(put Louis down 3 times) on top of that Walcott had one of the best set of footwork next to Ali and Tunney and could set himself for a solid punch from odd and cagey angles.....Walcott was a cutie extrodinare with power in both hands...But you are right that the way Walcott could find a chin with a power shot was simular to SSR

I was very fond of Mike the Bounty Hunter too.. RIP..

I was always around Mike when he trained under Tyrone Boone in Las Vegas.......

Yep, similar knockout punches... i wouldn't say Walcott's hook had a little less substance, though. SRR was more aggressive by nature and as a result scored more knockouts, but that "unseen" punch from Walcott was a killer.

I'd put Young just a shard under Norton but above Quarry.

I like this list:thumbsup..i would put Young first and Walcott second, but I could be wrong..Mike The Bounty Hunter and Eddie Machen I would add, and when he was briefly at heayweight, pastrano would qualify..but this is a great breed of fighter, cuties..my favorite actually.

    Always though that,,,,,,,,,,,,

Eddie Machen was the 'classic cutie',,,,,,,who could sneak a good punch in once in a while.
