Nate Campbell didn't do to badly. Didn't turn pro till he was 28 and never even put on a pair of gloves until he was 24. As the story goes, he was working the graveyard-shift in a warehouse and shadow-boxed to keep himself awake and alert, his co-workers saw him and suggested he give boxing a try. So age 24, he puts on a pair of gloves for the first time, wins a few amateur tournaments and turns pro at 28.

Jess Willard, was a very late starter, ok he was no ATG but he held World Heavyweight title, and won it from a ATG who was the lineal champion.

Big George Foreman is the best choice here IMO. His first amateur bout was at 18 and won a gold medal in Mexico at 19. Then went on to defeat the undefeated Joe Frazier and win his title back as the oldest heavyweight champ of all time.

If one though it would be Larry Holmes how good he was while starting late has to be the best out of all the late starters
