The reality is Beterbiev is too old. Age matters. Benavidez at this point would probably win the fight despite Beterbiev's style being terrible for him. David has a good high guard and is talented enough to last several rounds like most of Beterbiev's opponents and he has youth, volume, and speed advantage. Only thing I'd be worried about are Beterbievs body shots, but Benavidez would win a decision due to speed and having a similar workrate to Artur
i said david would beat beterbiev way before he beat yarde. its bivol that i have more trouble working out. that would be a fight between teams, best plan puts you in the best position to win.
Beterbiev is too old now,Bivol/Hearn old manned him out and only took the fight when the Saudis got involved and could avoid it no longer.Bivol has already gave up the WBC belt to avoid the mandatory fight with Benavidez so hopefully Turki gets involved and makes the fight with Bivol v Benavidez. Bivol will need to come up with a new strategy to avoid Benavidez as he can’t old man him out ! At this point now Beterbiev is certainly showing signs of aging and would lose to Benavidez as for Bivol getting him in the ring with Benavidez will be the thing,how the fight goes I think after a close first half of the fight Benavidez will take over and out work/out hustle Bivol with his speed and work rate to a unanimous win or possibly a very late stoppage .
Probably. Benavidez could do something similar to Bivol and push the pace to a level Beterbiev is uncomfortable with. Power is the last thing to go and maybe Beterbiev could land early.
I really don't think 41 year old Beterbiev will seek out a match with a prime fighter at 175 lbs like Benevidez. His heavy hands , youth and speed would see Beterbiev struggle to last the distance.
Peak for peak Artur destroys him, honestly so would the Biev that fought Bivol. Benavidez doesn’t have the power at 175 to keep Artur off of him. But that was a year and a few injuries ago, the guy’s 41 so who knows how much that year and those injuries have taken out of him.
Benavidez probably wins now, outworking the older man down the stretch and taking it on points. I think now is around the turning point where Beterbiev still has a great chance, but this is around the point where I’d favour Benavidez 55/45, but even the Beterbiev who got the decision against Bivol, I’d pick that version to beat Benavidez. Beterbiev crushes him prime for prime.
