Souths real inroads will come in 09. This year is another making up the numbers year. I think we'll be a much better attacking unit this year, but I think we'll lose a bit on our defence this year. Trial form has been pretty good so far though. Bring on the Chooks!
i dunno the charity shield wasnt a trial for you guys you could tell after the game the clapping and screaming, every year youse have won the charity shield since getting back int he comp youse have come downt he bottom of the ladder this year will be no exception...
It's true we've had the "our grand final" mentality in the past, but I wouldn't say it was the case this year, or last year too. We finished the game with many of our younger players (players that wont be selected for the first round game, and tried out new combinations throughout the game. In 06, Bomber McRae had Buddy Gordon needled up at halftime to get him back out there. Terrible days were those. Also, brown took this game probably more serious than Taylor did this year. He put the whole team on notice, saying that if they don't perform they wont be selected for round 1. Anyway, it's a trial, and I won $20 off bort from it.
