Hate to bring this up again. But Hopkins hasn't got any belts. NONE. He has a magazine awarded belt. The same magazine that his business partner owns at that..... Oh sorry, has he got the IBO still or not? Or have they given that back to Tarver again? Hopkins will fight the winner of Jones/Trinidad IMO. Another bull**** fight. OR Winky again. Oh yes, the cream of the light heavyweights. ****, if they wait a couple of years the guys will get free bus passes to the fight like all the other OAP's.
ATG my ass . . . only in his hometown shithead. If he thinks he is an ATG then he can be contended in retiring without fighting the real ATG's got that dumb****? He can stop mentioning the real ATG's names. Now insert that into your peanut brain. :yep
From your current avatar, it appears that youv'e got a history of 'misunderestimating' Joe. (Sorry, George)
Nah nah nah . . . I'm not underestimating JC and that avatar isn't mine. I got that for losing on the Taylor/Pavlik fight. I'm talking based on logic . . . If JC feels he is already an ATG then why mention other fighters name. It should be the other fighters burning their trails going after him if he's really that big. Now tell me I'm wrong. :hey
Is that your answer? Yeah you do that boiii. . . . but not for me . . . for the blind nuthuggers here in this forum. :good
I already have. Read my other posts on this topic. JC is an ATG based on abilities and demonstrated skills. He does not have an ATG resume. Bernard WAS an ATG, but his recent perfornances, unike Joe's, indicate that he's past his best before date. (2-2-0) in his last four against guys Joe would starch. BTW, if you lost the Taylor-Pavlik bet (I did too), how come you got rewarded with that avatar.
Because I lost to Ams_t who is Calzaghe nuthugger. :rofl But I don't really mind . . . because I don't hate JC . . . it's the delussional fans that irritates me. :yep :good
Someone mentioned(or questioned) that Hopkins vs. Jones 2 didn't happen because Hopkins wanted 60% of the purse. I believe it was Jones that wanted 60%, and Hopkins saying it should be 50/50. As far as a fight with Joe goes, I think Hopkins has earned the right to be greedy in this one. Hopkins is approaching his mid 40's, making this become a bit of a spectacle. A spectacle he deserves extra credit for making since he is the one fighting so well into his forties. He is the linear champ at light heavy as well. It is not like he is the one moving up in weight to fight for a new title. Calzaghe has yet to show he is any bigger pay per view draw than Hopkins, which is where most of their money will come from. Here is an option that I haven't heard before. Stage the fight in Europe, and give Joe 60% of the gate. Give Hopkins 60% of the ppv buys.
None of thew aforementioned are bums. Two of them are great boxers. The third is a decent journeyman. Winky. Only two or three losses ever, all close, and never been stopped. However, he fought most of his career at 154, two divisions below 168. Joe struggles to make 168. He's too big for Winky, and a bit more skilled. Tarver. A decent journryman. 4-3-0 in his last seven. Main claim to fame, KOing a shot Roy. Has a loss to a near shot, weight-drained Roy and a loss to journeyman Johnson. And a loss to an over-the hill Bernard. I don't see him giving Joe serious concern. Taylor. A greatboxer who took two (admittedly very close and controversial) decisions over a fading Bernard. I think he'll be back and achieve a measure of greatness, but he's too inexperienced and nervous to deal with Joe. Joe STILL hasn't got the recognition that should come from his record. Beating Roy or Bernard doesn't enhance him in the eyes of serious fans, any more than Holmes victory over a faded Ali. I would like to see Joe fight Dawson, a real champion at 175. I would like Bernard to go out a winner. Miranda is his man.
Yeah real champs fight anywhere . . . how come Calzaghe doesn't want to leave his comfort zone? He is the one pushing for the fight and he is the challenger on this occassion, and you're expecting him to be able to dictate his terms? :-(
Real champs fight anywhere? How many title fights has Hopkins had outside the US? How many title fights has Mayweather had outside the US? Holyfield? How many outside the US? Hell, how many title fights has Holy won against NON-US fighters? Want me to carry on?
I KNOW . . I'm only responding to the guy who said that. He said Bhops needs to go to Calzaghe's turf to fight him because real Champs fight any where. My question is how many times did Calzaghe fought out of his turf. That should apply to both not only to Bhops ( that's my point):yep
