east siders who would you consider a five tool boxer. Which means they had chin, power, defense, boxing ability, and speed. For me i would say Ricardo Lopez maybe even JMM with much less emphasis on power.
I wouldn't say Duran. He certainly never had pure boxing ability. Thats unfair slightly as that wasn't his style. It's like saying Hearns wasn't a great inside fighter. However, Duran was a very well rounded fighter. Duran was very good at long range against Leonard, although mainly when he stepped inside with his punches from long range and countered over Leonard's jabs, etc. He wasn't what I'd term a sustained 'scoring puncher' at long range. Scoring meaning looking to land punches without much power behind them. He fought on the outside against Hagler, jabbing ocassionally, with his countering right hand being his most authoritive weapon. Some people on here might try to convince me that Duran was very strong in all areas, nope. He was very strong in some areas of his game, and moderate in others.
Ray Robinson certainly scores strongly in all those areas. Some others were better defensively, also inside, but he was very good across the board.
Gpater, Louis is out in this one as his chin wasn't A-class. Charley Burley might be a good name here along with Mcveys Ortiz and Napoles picks. Ezzard Charles before the tragedy in the ring happened might also be a good addition.
I think Sanchez lacked serious power. Well rounded though, yes. It's hard to come up with a fighter who was truely strong on all the areas mentioned.
Leonard was strong across the board. Add intelligence into the mix as well, and it just makes him look even better.
