sadly for as much good he has achieved there is also bad. He says Audley Harrison is to blame for not main stream TV for boxing. When he had the ITV contract for 3 years he put on Main Events like;

Matt Skelton/Danny Williams/Audley Harrison/Michael Sprott
Amir Khan vs a host of bums.

 

What do people make of his pop at Calzaghe and "phantom injuries"?

 

Think its a slight exageration but many Calzaghe himself has said he pulled out of a lot of fights and wanted to pull out of the Lacy fight a week before. He didnt look to injured to me so im sure he could of boxed in the others as well.

 

in fairness to frank when amir turned pro he had to be matched appropriatly,i remember tv veiwing figures were good and arenas all packed to watch amir,terresteral tv should show boxing even once a month and boxing fans can get to see the fights they crave for,as theres plenty of talent in the uk that can fight at all levels from domestic to world scene.

I am not denying that. But his whole theory on Harrision flopping is that there were main events of 6 round fights. thats exactly what happend with Khan.

A couple of times he was under Calzaghe and Clinton Woods Johnson, other than that it was domestic fights. there is no difference.

 

It's a shame I've never seen him challenged on points like that Rob. No one in the media seems to have the balls to do it. Or that his wbu embrace made people even more cynical about world titles and that his refusal to make fights like hatton-witter or calzaghe-froch/woods or khan-Murray did boxing in this country a disservice.

This same sort of congratulatory Warren article crops up every few months.

That interview will be part of a deal where Warren takes out a certain amount of advertising in the paper each year. I used to do the same with my business. You buy the space and they wrote storys about my product.

at least we will be seeing allot of boxing storys in the standard from now on. Its free now btw
