just been to the press conference with Billy for his fight. looks like a good undercrard as well Junior V Awad and paul fleming as well as the main fight lacierva turned pro at 16 and has 19KO's but also 6 draws which is unusual had 3 draws in a row early in career both were very respectful at the hard Rock cafe in darling Harbour. pity No TV coverage should be a great night
also Jeff fenech was there made mention of Angelo Hyder making himself avaliable to slap billy in the face before the fight, I assume he did this with green on Wednesday
anyone give Billy much of a chance here? I dont know anything about his opponent... what is the expected outcome or is this a 50/50 fight?
I dont see team Dib bringing him down if he has much of a chance. But the kid is ranked highly by the IBF so im not sure.
why did they not get a tv deal for this fight it is flat out stupid. Main event in september would be ok.
War Baby Face! Lacierva has faced better than the likes of Dib. Hell, he's beaten better...and recently. If he's being bitten off as a light chew he might just stick in that craw. :good
apparently had a TV date on the 15th however lacierva's people couldn't make it until the 29th so the TV fell through
I asked about lacierva because i havent seen him and this was the reply i got from a pretty good judge: "Lacierva is a little crude, but an effective pressure fighter. It's all the good and all the bad you can think of with that description. Sometimes he gets too wild with his punches, sometimes he'll shorten up and be really effective, and there's really no rhyme or reason for him going either way. Some people thought he beat Caballero on one of the Vazquez/Marquez prelims. I thought Caballero edged it, but that also made me think Caballero wasn't close to P4P. I'd consider him a very live dog against Dib." Might be a good scrap. For all the crap dib has rightfully copped, he is fighting better lately. That might change against a live opponent in lacierva. A lot might depend on the mexicans prep and how long he has been here to adjust, get over the jet lag etc.
