As always, I can't agree with fighters like Bisping cutting weight how they describe.

Dehydrating any earlier than absolutely needed is a dumb way to cut.

    Edit: Misinterpretation.

Posted that before I watched the video; the way he is doing it is just fine.

    What's wrong with it?

Don't see what the problem with his weight cutting.

It's obvious, dehydrating your body, making yourself weaker etc Losing 12 pounds in 2 days and he isn't the worst example. The 12 pounds will probably be sweated out in extreme ways.

Never been a fan of it, never will be.

I remember Buncey looked into boxing deaths/injuries in the UK and out of the last 12, 11 of them all had a troubled history of making weight.

Doesn't seem like he is doing anything too bad.

Some guys from teh guy that take fights on short notice end up having to loose insane amounts of weight 8-9kg in a week sort of thing.

Only a few months ago I read in the paper of someone dying from drinking 8 litres of water. Something about them drowning themselves inside!

You only are dehyrdated for a few hours, you get 24+ hours after weigh-ins to rehydrate. I know it isn't the ideal situation, but pretty much no matter what guys are going to cut weight, so this system seams to be the best option.

12 pounds is nothing really, Thiago Silva usually does close to 25-30. Pac used to do the same in the lower divisions.

Wrestlers do it their whole career, and they usually only get a few hours after weigh in, that is a more dangerous way, I think.

Yes, water intoxication; You basically take in so much water, with no electrolytes, that it throws off your level of electrolytes to the point of causing brain cells to swell, and can lead to blood not reaching the brain.

Margret Goodman says, and I agree, that 24 hours is not nearly enough time to rehydrate. It doesn't matter if its 7 pounds of 27 pounds.

Unfortunately you are right and guys will always cut weight.

Bisping said he was 10lbs over on Monday in an interview I heard on the radio. He was in confident mood but the signs were bad to be honest. Mentioed he would not eat this week.
