    Warren has form for this.

Remember when Flanagan was 135 champion and he and Warren kept talking about fighting linares but as soon as Crawford moved to WW they tried to get that title which was vacant at 140 lbs.

This is simply a matter of taking the far easier option for a world title. Andrade is a risk while this guy isn't.

What BJS cannot do is claim the title was stolen from him. He had the chance to go and get it back but has declined to do so. That's all on him.

If you think Saunders is a ducker then you have no clue really. Taking a more lucrative and more convenient fight is not a duck. You are conveniently overlooking the fact that he signed up to fight Andrade away from home before he was disqualified from the fight. He flew over to Canada to beat the **** out of the second hardest puncher in the division.

He will become two-weight champ. Blame the sanctioning body, don’t call Saunders a ducker. If it was a non title fight then fair enough call him that.

Welcome back, what did you get banned for?

On a separate note, you like posting about the business side of things...you have BJS who was getting something like 75% of the split in the first fight, he messes up and in his head he feels aggrieved. The rematch gets ordered and he finds himself with the 25% on the table for the same fight. However, the opportunity to become world champion comes up again at a weight he’s more comfortable at. It’s a unique opportunity to become 2 weight world champion. Me and you both know it’s a soft way to do that because we’re boxing fans, but his legacy will say he was world champ at two weights. To add to this, he now has a belt to bring to the table in a business sense, he can attract a big fight and the money with it.

You have to acknowledge that in a business sense this is the best option for BJS.

I think it’s possibly too soon to describe this as a duck. If his fight after this opponent is a pudding then yeah, definitely call it a duck but this move now is pretty clever imo.

I get it from a business sense. BUT Saunders said Hearn and Andrade stole his title. Now if somebody steals something from you and you get the chance to take it back, you go and take it. Anything else is shìtebag behaviour.

I had huge doubts the fight would happen once BJS knew he was only gonna get 25%. Not surprised at all to be honest

But yeah BJS and warren can't go around claiming they are the real champion.

Oh and what happened to Warren suing the commission and everybody else.

The speed at which people shout "duck!" is incredible. Seen it immediately yesterday when Fury signed a deal too good to refuse. I'm not happy about BJS's upcoming fight but like others have said, you can see the doors it opens legacy wise, and financially. The big fights can take time in boxing for so many reasons.

What we conveniently forget at times is it's the promoters and managers who make these decisions, with financial gains at the forefront. It's the same with Anthony Joshua. He hasn't ducked anyone. His team tried to squeeze as much bread from the big opponents as they could and the fights fell apart. Guarantee if Eddie said to Joshua; "lets just go 50/50 for the first fight, get all the belts and everyone gets 20% after that", we would've seen AJ/Wilder with AJ/Fury imminent.

Fighters get too much stick for promoters decisions. Few fighters have the power to go against promoters and those that do are generally advised otherwise.

Reason being using words not allowed. I honestly don't know what that was.

I agree with your point that they are simply weighing up the options and there is now an easy option to get a title rather than fight Andrade. Can't blame him for doing so however as I said one cannot claim that Andrade was gifted the title or BJS is still the 'champion' when Andrade is ready to fight BJS.

Surely the Andrade fight was more the more lucrative fight than against unheard of? Hearn said he paid OTT to get the fight and even Frank was very complimentary about the amount of money offered for Andrade fight.

Seems to me the most logical thing to do for BJS was to step up. Has an easier fight to become WC in a easier divison with a lot more potential well known domestic opponents.

It’s not really a legit “two world champ” situation though, is it?

Hardly cleared the division out or fought the best. And he’ll do neither knowing him.

I didn’t know this and I do rate Saunders as a fighter but just had a look through his record...

    Vacant British title
    Vacant commonwealth
    Vacant EBU
    Vacant WBO middleweight
Now going for the vacant WBO super middle...
