This should be a really good fight. Surprised more people arent talking about it. How do ye all see it going? There is an awful lot to say about this fight but to get the ball rolling I hope to see Nick gettting past his usual very annoying slooow start to overtake Eubanks early points lead late on: Nick by a points win in a great fight....
I don't see it finishing early but it's hard to predict a winner. If Blackwell can cope with Eubank's size I'd slightly favour him but with no real conviction. The issue with the buzz around this fight is that Mick has lost his TV deal with Channel 5 with major issues surrounding the promotion/announcement of the new Cyclone deal.
I really hope Nick wins and I really hope the sparring stories are true, however if he is to win it will be by points and it will be by a whisker.
It is. Mick's deal with them ends on Saturday and Cyclone Promotions take over (allegedly) for 4 cards on the channel. Undercard is on Spike TV.
He's fighting Guinn- his new deal with Frank starts with a chief support bout on his April 30th card. Odd that Channel 5 are going to push this hard this week across their network with promos given the fact they never do usually.
An awful lot hinges on how well Blackwell uses his often-neglected, yet great when he does use it, jab, and how well or not he overcomes his too-frequent slooooow start to fights. If he starts fast and makes maximum use of his jab he wins this, possibly even surprisingly easily. Eubanks lack of two critical things, a jab and power could see him exposed here.
