Let's start with Jack Johnson, one of the greatest defensive specialist of all time. Look at pictures of his face after most fights and you'll understand why he's considered so highly. He blocked most jabs coming at him, leaving him unmarked.

    By eight weight classes

    Hw- Jack Johnson
Lhw- Harold Johnson or Archie Moore
    Mw- winky Wright
    Ww- Marlon starling
Lw- probably gans or McFarland. Of the guys I've seen Chavez maybe.
Fw- azumah Nelson but i'm sure there's since old timer like Dundee who is just as good
    Bw- Jofre or konadu, maybe
    Flw- Ricardo Lopez

Edit- do.Philly shell guys count? Cause then Mayweather and Benton might make it.

Marlon Starling there makes me think of the Honeyghan fight. I think he blocked almost everything Honeyghan threw at him.

langford was apparently quite good but the footage we have doesn't tell us enough.

whitaker did it masterfully at 135

Roy Jones in his prime was SO good at this. He's smack away punches with his left hand and counter with swift rights regularly. Beautiful to watch. His rematch with Montell Griffin is a parry-to-trigger punch masterclass.

Bernard Hopkins is fantastic at it. I'm not just mentioning it due to his schooling of Cloud 2 days ago, either.

Getting all of that leverage into a right hook after blocking Trinidad's left hook with his right hand to knock him out took a lot of skill.

Beautiful knockdown that.reminded me of Kalambay's last round knockdown of Herol Graham.

I tend to think of George Foreman as being one of the most overrated fighters on this forum. But he deserves his due- he was a pretty darn good parry artist! He slaps punches away a lot like Jack Johnson at times.

Does cross arm block count, Archie Moore is excellent with this.

Gans was more renowned for these skills.
