blocking hooks

    i was taught by my caoch 2 ways to block hooks one is to kind of knock it out like slma ur arm into the hooking elbow and the other is to just touch your temple with your glove so that the hook hits the glove. i saw someone else do some weird **** and try and touch there lat kind of block.

    kind of like that but he completly put his arm back. as if he was flexing his bicep. any1 else do that? it seems like it takes to much time IMO

    I always have my guns up so the glove touches the temple. This method has worked the best. For MMA, the gloves are so small I don't see how that method works. In your case going MMA you might want to try something else to block the hooks, maybe like a karate age uke.

    I block them with my shoulders most of the time.

    real men block hooks with their ears.
