The thing is that the likes of brook and bjs have lots of talent....and would possibly have won titles with the guy next door training them. The fighter probably won those titles, not the trainer, if you get what I mean. A very talented fighter can make a mediocre trainer look better than he is. Whereas what I want to see is a case where a great trainer made a mediocre fighter look better than HE is. A case whee a a trainer took a previously mediocre fighter and turned him into a major overachiever by developing what skills he does have to the max.
both are excellent! mcracken has done the lot though, here he is fighting howard Eastman... This content is protected he focuses a lot on fitness, even though AJ gasses a lot mcracken would have him in the best shape for sure! I know quite a few very good fighters who have approached booth in the past couple of years and he's turned them away so he only trains only very special fighters now and who can blame him
Hard to throw that claim at the ingles. They,ve brought through a lot of good ones over the years. All fighting in what's known in the game as the ingle style. They also like bringing them through themselves mostly. People underestime how hard it is to bring through a British champion let alone a European or world level champion. Some people get lucky...the ingles aren't one of these people tho.
Brook and Galahad had never laced a glove on before walking in the Ingle gym. One won the world title in LA, the other is undefeated and no.5 in world. Back to topic, Froch and Joshua were world class amateurs, so which fighters over-achieved under McCracken?
Good points. What is happening with kid Galahad anyway? He doesn't seem to be getting any publicity at all these days??? I know the drugs thing didn't help, but he seems to have regressed, at least as regards his profile, from years ago....when there used to be open talk of him fighting the likes of Frampton and Quigg. I never hear about him these days...
Galahad is on the Brook show in a few weeks. He's no.7 with the WBC and no.5 with IBF hoping to get to the mandatory so they have to fight him!
Clearly I don't, but I use the forum to talk about what I think. For me BJS has tons of talent but was lacking in conditioning. Ingle has fitted that final piece to the jigsaw but I can't imagine that Saunders has been reinvented in terms of boxing not in the relatively short time they've been together
Exactly. Also of course historically the ingles specialised in unorthodox awkward southpaws...naz, graham, etc
