Amateur experience can not be compared to expereince in the professional game. Quigg is marginally ahead of Frampton in terms of his progression, which you would expect with a two year head start, but Frampton has been quicker to get to where he is.
Which is why Frampton is catching up to him so quickly in the pros, he has good amateur pedigree whereas Quigg does not.

Why not fight Booth? Quigg or Frampton should man up, they're rated as top prospects so why not. Jason Booth is a very good fighter, but he's an aging fighter and he's not exactly a 'danger' fighter. I mean that in the sense yes he could old man you and win the fight...but its not going to be a career ending beat down or anything and chances are whatever happens you would learn a fair bit. They should get in there with him in 2011.
I honestly can't think of an ATG fighter from Ireland? I have to go wayyyy back to find McLarnin, who admittedly is about as great as you can get.
You seem to be in the wrong thread flea man but since we're on the subject. There are a lot of great boxers of Irish descent, like Gene Tunney, Tommy Loughran, Billy Conn, Tommy Ryan, Jack Dempsey, Jack O Brien, Terry McGovern etc. We could even claim Jim Driscoll and Benny Lynch if we wanted to as both had Irish parents. Some countries, like Britain and the US, benefit greatly from immigration which helps them enormously with the number of atg boxers they "produce".
I think its generally harder to become an ATG since the splitting up of divisions and multi belts, plus you gotta remember Ireland only has a population of 6 million and of that 6 million its basically split between mostly GAA, soccer and rugby. Plus outside of Belfast, the average joe isnt interested in boxing, unless SKY or RTE big up a fighter. If we were to go through the old fighters, whose parents (both irish) went to america, then we arguably have a few. Without this turning into a tit for tat us versus them thread, who has the UK produced as ATGs? Id say Bob Fitzsimmons, Lennox Lewis (is he English?), Ken Buchanan, arguably Joe Calzaghe? Guys like Alan Minter and John Stracey have to be given big props, fighting in the days before multi titlists and winning world championships

well i think it makes a lot of a difference because as an amatuer im sure frampton was facing top opposition in europe. quigg didn't fight hardly any1 with a winning record till recently....barry mcguigan clearly rates frampton and is moving him quickly.
be a risky fight, but if your going to be top class, then what better way to get there than fighting top class fighters, in this current climate the public are looking for something a bit different than the usual bum a month job, if he can make a statement in a fight like that, and his team agree he's ready, then so be it.
