Very frustrating to watch. GSP had him completely out matched, Shields never even came close to getting him down and GSP still didn't make a concerted effort to finish the fight.
Lately, yeah. It's gotten to the point where, no matter how obviously superior he is to his opponents, he has shown either a complete lack of ability or desire to finish a fight.
Over at esp n it shows that Shields outlanded George in strikes and kicks . George had 2 out of 3 takedowns while Shields was 0 for 6 attempts . I didn't see the match , other than a few highlights. Highly skilled fighters are not always the most exciting . Hats off to GSP for the win and Shields can say he fought the best . Fights are dynamic , one cannot predict or expect a knockout ... you don't hear experienced MMA fighters saying " fighter X is lame for not knocking out fighter Z " only a fool would say that .
The guy fought a very tough opponent and won when he was half blind. A great performance by GSP considering he couldn`t see for **** after the 2nd round. Try to do something simple like drive your car or park it a tight parking space with just one eye. We`re all such tough guys when we are in no pain and have all our faculties working right.
THE WHOLE CARD WAS AMAZING besides the main event ffs MACHIDA'S K.O. was the best k.o. and jose aldo's fight was fight of the night in my opinion.
not only fight of the night, in my oppinion one of the greatest ufc bouts ever. that was the ultimate war.... great avatar by the way
Im not sure why anyone's surprised about this result. Shields has ALWAYS been horrendous to watch. Thanks to Greg Jackson GSP is also now as exciting as a turnip. Terrible match up of styles.
It was a boring main event. GSP is intent on pot shotting. He is the MMA version of Floyd. Absolutely no risks. He says he couldn't see, maybe he couldn't but its still disappointing.
