Anyone know whats going to happen with this channel? I know it a channel with something to do with W**r*n but is it going to be showing live fights? Will it pick up other boxing from around the world that were currently not able to watch?

nobody really knows. the fact that a boxing channel comes on sky and not one person involved even posts on this forum about it says all though.

Could just be Frank's backup plan. When do all the tv contracts run out again Rob? Frank's already been complaining about not having enough TV dates so this could help out a little. Plus he's already got plenty of old fights to show to keep the channel running, like he does on his youtube site.

I don't see how a pay per view would work though but could be used occasionally perhaps.

The most exciting thing to happen in a bit is Fury Chisora being on channel 5 our best hope for the time being is they pick up a few fights.

This channel could be as a result of the success of Primetime. The figures for Khan-McCloskey were very good considering the late changes etc. And Sky have at least shown they will pull up the promoter if they do not deliver a decent card for a PPV event.

Perhaps, this new channel is partly insurance for Wazza and partly an intention to dip his toes in a PPV on an independent channel, if it makes good sales, then he doent have to pay Sky and potentially it might be more than viable.

Wazza did say recently that it doesnt matter what channel a ppv is on, it will still cost the punter £15 and out of all of Sky's promoters, Wazza is visibly the only PPV orientated promoter.

If you want ch5 to pick up more boxing they need to do substantially more than the usual 1mil viewers in that time slot. So make sure you tell everyone to watch!

I've heard that the channel is part-owned by FW and the deal includes rights to live fights.

With FW being the promoter and the broadcaster it misses out the vital vetting stage for fights, as long as it isn't PPV then I'm happy.
