Thought it was a Frank Warren venture when I saw it was being held at Telford!

Fighters representing their local cities in a tournament style event. Interesting concept and sounds like it's giving some fringe Fighters an opportunity which is nice. Not sure if its got any tv backing or will take off though.

This is the first I'm hearing of it. Is it pro boxing or white collar stuff?

Rumours are that the winner of Joshua v Whyte will lead London.

Saw Barry Jones on about it. It’s for fighters who can’t get on small hall shows as they don’t sell enough tickets.

Ye this is it and a good route tbf. Not everyone can buy their fights through ticket sales so for anyone that is struggling comps like these offer alternative routes for the fighters.
Afaik Josh Warrington is leading the Leeds charge. Apparently they are hoping for some kind of TV coverage too.
I think the format is Leeds vs Manchester & Birmingham vs London, In 4 rdrs. Then the winners go through to a 6rd final at a later date.
    It's a great concept imo

Johnny Nelson is the captain of the 'Leeds Armouries' . Its good they have managed to get a few names involved to give the shows a bit of a profile.

Not sure about any coverage of fights though, hopefully they get streamed somewhere

I quite like the idea of this. Good for the young pros and the fans to have 4 and 6 round fights that are a bit more meaningful.

Being broadcast live on YouTube by boxing social apparently. Not sure how good the production will be but that's good news for the fighters, a chance for them and the tournament to get a bit of exposure and build a profile

I bet the fights will be little classics though, in their own way.

At least the fighters are going to be active, and getting some sort of payday.

    See nothing negative here tbh

For me, it is just as interesting to see new young talents being developed as to watch the big events.

Nice that Boxing Social gives the boxers exposure.
