130 lb Matt Remilland who was twice national am champ and was 23 - 1 13 ko with only loss to Mikey Garcia spent 5 yrs for assault had to prove himself in jail. Matt quickly learned that he had to stand tough or his time would be hellish .Matt when another inmate attacked him he said he laid out the much larger man with one right hand and my sentence was much easier after that.
James Scott's is a fascinating tale. He also beat Yacqui Lopez, I think. I'm not agreeing with him of course, but have you ever heard what Harold Lederman (who was one of the official judges) said about Scott after that Mustafa Muhammad fight? "On that day, I thought James Scott was the greatest light-heavyweight I ever saw in my life. That's how great he was. On that one day when he beat Gregory (Muhammad), he was the best light-heavyweight I ever saw. I never saw a performance like that — anywhere. I don't think Foster was as good as that. I don't think Moore was that good." High praise, indeed.
