No Holmes never bragged about that. He motioned to Green to stop the fight. He also showed mercey on Marvis and Shavers in there second fight.

i think a good example is ali vs ellis. ali simply toyed with ellis and outclassed him but for example in the (i believe in the 10th or 11th round) ali could easily hav gone for the KO but you can see he holds back

Ali vs. Buster Mathis was explicitly merciful in the last couple of rounds.

One great example was from Bob Fitzsimmons in his fight fight with Peter Maher. Maher was hurt and on his way out. During a clinch Maher told Fitz he could not go on, but asked him if he could finish the round on his feet. Request granted. Maher retired the next round.

What is the definition of "mercy " ?
Reminds me of the man who murdered his mother and father...
When he stood before the judge before sentencing, he asked the judge for "mercy "
because he was an orphan !!!

Berbick against Bobby Crabtree, one of the most brutal fights I've ever seen.

Berbick was just ****ing whacking the poor guy around, landing dozens of flush, head snapping punches.

He kept looking at the referee like, da' ****?

Supposedly Berbick "carried" Ali as well, Ali being his idol or some such.

Supposedly Joey Archer carried Ray Robinson

Ali also carried Buster Mathis, for fear that he didnt want to kill the man, has it been mentioned?

10 th round of Frazier vs. Bugner. Joe nailed Bug with a left hook and Bug sort of quivered for a moment, totally defenseless while Frazier was loading up on a hook - and then pulled it back at the last second as Bug was going down.

Norris carried Leonard to win a decision. In the 10th & 11th you could tell SRL didn't want to be there anymore and looked very wounded but Norris threw a few shots at a time and wasn't looking to put him out. Then again, Leonard wasn't the easiest guy to take out past prime or not but still the TKO victory was there for Norris to attempt to get.

Yeah but Leonard also was known for his power and his heart? had Norris done that sort of thing before?
