Dan Rafael Tweeted about it the other day, Boxing back on Verses in January, Now on boxrec it says Sergei Liakhovich and Ray Robinson ( :rofl at name ) will kick it off on January 21st.

If this is true we are in for a treat, More boxing!:bbb

Do you know when the name change will come? VS will become NBC sports channel...

Ever seen "The New Ray Robinson", SS? He's a Philly fighter.

    He's OK. Versus/ESPN2 level fighter.

He's the first person I ever saw Brad Solomon beat, and at the time it seemed a pretty good win...maybe even a slight upset.

Since then Robinson has lost to Shawn Porter on a ShoBox card, while Solomon has achieved much more success. I don't know if Robinson is even a top 5 win on Solomon's resume anymore. :think

    Good news! :happy

Sergei Lyakhovich is usually in exciting fights, as we saw with Helenius, Quinn and Brewster.

We'll likely see Tomasz Adamek on there in February or March.

If matched up well then Lyackovich and Robinson aren't bad names at all for the budget Versus is working with. Just as long as they don't match Lyackovich up with someone like Gabe Brown or Zack Page then they might be able to do a solid card here. Interesting to see who their opponents turn out to be.

Ironically the one he's most known for is one of the most boring HW bouts of the last decade (mind you, that's Klitschko era :scaredas:)...and one of the biggest choke jobs in HW history. :yep

Hopefully he can still bring the action like he did against Helenius, though - and maybe pick up a win this time. :deal

Good, hopefully it gets back on Versus regularly and maybe something can get bumped up to NBC again someday. I'd love for boxing to be on primetime, network TV again. And hopefully with the NBA gone ESPN will broadcast some more fights too.

Liakhovich is all over the place. He can either be in snoozefests or thrilling fights. Not sure of anyone who has such a disparity in their fights.

I didn't know that! So NBC sports channel will have it then.

He'll likely fight a nobody. He is coming off a loss so he needs to work his way back up. Unless they match him with a guy like Chageav. A fight I'd love to see.

Liakhovich's fight with Valuev is funny. It is like a troll fighting a Giant.
