Anybody got any good boxing documentaries to watch? Recently i've watched "Facing Ali," "The Magic Man," and "Ring of Fire, the Emile Griffith Story"..All of which were excellent watches but i hate watching the same thing twice soon after eachother. Also, i would advise everybody to buy The Life and Legend of Roberto Duran, by Christian Giudice as i bought it for something to read whilst on holiday and i thoroughly enjoyed it.. Feedback is appreciated, cheers.
"Assault in the Ring" (sounds like a gay porno film but is about the Resto-Lewis-Collins saga. "Becoming Muhammad Ali" "Triumph and Tragedy" (Story of the Mancini-Kim ring fatality) "Beyond the Glory" (Roberto Duran) Most of the "Legendary Nights" series by HBO are pretty decent.

Apart from the quality picks that have been mentioned, here are some more of my faves: Fighting Back (The Michael Watson Story); Sonny Liston - The Champion Nobody Wanted; Little Prince, Big Fight (Naz is awesome in this); The Undisputed Truth; Joe Louis - America's Hero Betrayed; Roy Jones - The Sweet Science; The Thrilla In Manilla.
oh yeah, i've seen little prince big fight, was pretty funny.. think i'm going to look for assault in the ring first, cause everyone so far has mentioned it
Sugar Ray Robinson: The Bright Lights and Dark Shadows of a Champion Thats a really good documentary. Also the Jack Johnson one, Unforgivable Blackness, great as well.
There was a great one on the BBC around about Easter time back in the mid 90's (think it was 1995, I recorded it on VHS), which I believe has been subsequently repeated on The History Channel, called "Kings Of The Ring". It is about the history of the heavyweight championship and shows some rare and fantastic footage from the days of Jack Johnson right the way through to Tyson. One of the best boxing documentaries I've ever seen. I'm sure if you look around you'll be able to obtain a copy (though I don't think it's officially commercially available).
The BBC version I saw was shown in it's entirety, about 90 mins or so long. I think you may be thinking of another documentary (or rather series of documentaries) called "The Fight"?
