I have been searching all around to figure out the best boxing gloves. Well, I would prefer something that work for everything (e.g. heavy bag, training, competition etc.). I don't do too much competition (mostly training), but I want something that I can use in competition too. Can anyone point me in the right direction and recommend me some good brands from their own experience? All your inputs are welcome.
You can't use the same gloves for everything. Boxers compete in 10oz, you will spar in 16oz. That being said, I recommend Hayabusa 16oz if you need a glove that you can use from bag to sparring to pads etc. They're also around £40 which is alot less expensive than other good 'pure' boxing gloves. EDIT: using the same gloves for bag and sparring might result in the gloves deforming and being unnecessarily painful to your sparring partners
I've had 2 pairs of Lonsdales in the past and both fell apart really quickly Stitching started coming undone, inside of the gloves tearing etc. Same thing happened with a guy I know from my gym who spent about £50 on a new pair and within a month they're falling to pieces That hasn't happened with other gloves I've tried
fair enough, i must admit i did go a bit over board as they were my first pair, all the gear and no idea at the time haha, i got the 70 or 80 quid ones think they were the super spar glove or something cant remember and theyve been used on average 5 times a week for 2 years at least with no probs, however the lemarr gloves i got despite great reviews and being very comfortable dont look all that good quality to me! but iv not used them much yet
The best ones are probably Cleto Reyes and Grant for competition but are also expensive. I have a 16oz pair of Rev Gear gloves and they are pretty good with good protection around 50$ http://www.revgear.com/product/19/boxing_gloves
My lonsdale spar gloves were awful - try Habusa like somebody said early on. Great gloves. In england its good to use 10oz addias gloves on the bag - as they are the competition gloves you use.
winning is worth every penny and my second choice would be casanovas. Anything under 16s i go for casanovas.
