Competitors: Julio Cesar Chavez, Pernell Whittaker, Oscar De La Hoya, Shane Mosely, Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao, Roberto Duran and Aaron Pryor. If these 8 fighters were too take part in a "boxing premier league" who would come out on top. Rules: Each fighter has to face one another twice, both home and away. There is 3 points for a win 1 point for a draw 0 for a loss Therefore each fighter will participate in 14 fights We have to assume that each fighter is in thier respective peak. During a fighter's "home fight" they can choose the weight class- but the maximum weight class that can be chosen is 147. The minimum they can choose however is limited 138. Who wins the league?
Whoa bold move...so you'd back him over Sugar Shane, Pernell Whitaker and Duran?? That's bold man cheers for the opinion
sweet pea may find it hard to win on the road...i do not see pryor and sweet pea losing at home. but im not sure if sweet pea would beat pacquiao in manila, chavez in mexico or duran in panama. I would even think that PBF would beat sweet pea in his hometown mosley would lose twice to pryor, chavez and duran. for sure he would lose to dela hoya at 147. i always thought that what leonard did to duran in their rematch could also be done by PBF, pryor, sweet pea and even pacquiao...
For me I'd say that in a league type situation like this consistency and the way in which you can adapt are the main thing's and for my money PBF and Whittaker would probably be the best at that because they are the two most technically gifted. I'd find it tough but I'd probably go with Whittaker/Mayweather at the top with Pryor somewhere close. I would love to put Duran up there but I think on head-to-head clashes Duran would struggle with a lot of these guys.
Probably Duran... but you never know with that much quality on show. I think Manny would be the `wigan` of that lot tho.... Duran being `Real Madrid.`
I dont really know why Pacquiao's in there as he's the smallest guy in there by quite some way, pretty unfair. I do think he might cause an upset or 2 though. Even with Pryor and Whitaker in there its hard to bet against Duran especially at the weight.
