What are the benefits with boxing shoes compared to normal trainers? I have never own boxing shoes, but I am considering buying some.
They are usually lighter. I find it easier to move around the ring that with my running trainers. My Asics are really comfortable and flexible which allows me to stay on my toes with ease. Pivoting to throw shots is also for comfortable to do. Also , they look nicer
usually from what Ive read itll depend on how you prefer to box. a wrestling type shoe is good if you want that extra grip to add more drive from your legs if you're more of a puncher. a very lightweight shoe is good for if you prefer to move around a lot more.
Plenty of advantages, personally the main thing i found when i bought my first pair was the massive difference it made when jumping rope.

well its not just weight, but also the rigidity of the sole and ankle as well that are factors in shoes. Or you can be like jones and dgaf it- he wore his own shoes (rjj jordans) which are like bricks on your feet from what Ive heard, yet he still did his business
the main benefit is the side support. the cross training shoe has virtually no support for side movements which is something that is done very often in boxing. The only thing I don't like is the arch support. I don't feel comfortable with no arches so I have customized inserts.
