Wondered which boxing writers you lot enjoyed most? He doesn't do articles on the BBC often but I always find Ben Dirs to be a really engaging writer. Can never make my mind up on Gareth Davies though

Ben Dirs is good but to be honest bar the odd purchase of Boxing Monthly I don't read to many articles on boxing, find a lot of writers are up their own ****s.

Come on here for my boxing fix... Some posters are up their own ****s but at least you can pull them up on it!

Edit: Going to add Tris Dixon actually.

I dont read many professional boxing writers these days due to the internet.

It's a shame really. Online writers you can engage with, however, what you miss out on is the fact that print journalists generally still have the better access to fighters/trainers/promoters, although that is balancing out these days.

Another big negative is that print journalists are far better writers, by and large, than their amateurish online brethren.

Some articles you see online contain great insight, but they look like they have been written by a ten year old.

I miss Buncey posting on this forum. Was one of many "celebrity" posters at one point.

    Adios.

Gareth Davies is an attention seeking idiot who needs a haircut.

Boxing Monthly is always a good read and The Sweet Science for global articles.

Gareth Davies is ok, although as noted his haircut is terrible. Think Hagrid from Harry Potter.

Thomas Hauser (US) is very good, but does get obsessed with obscure fighters from time to time and write the odd weird article

Yeah boxing monthly. The late Glyn Leach was good, as is Graham Houston. Buncey a good character for boxing.

Forgot about Hauser. Just reading The Black Lights now funnily enough. It's fantastic, really recommend it

I'd rather read his nonsense than listen to it. Every time he does that phoney laugh I want to take his head off.

Thomas Hauser, Ron Lewis, Donald Mcrae, Ben Dirs Steve Lillis, Tris Dixon and Elliot Worsell are all exceptional. Dirs, W****ll, Mcrae and Dixon have all written top quality books on the sport too.

John Exshaw has been doing a fantastic book review in Boxing Monthly for years.

Never rated Colin Hart, Pat Sheehan or Ron Borges. Golden Boy also ruined 'The Ring' years ago by firing quality writers like Ivan Goldman and replacing them with internet guys like Dougie Fischer. All part of the decline of what was once one of THE great sporting magazines.
