Just read on BS that Tim Bradley is dropping down to Lightweight because he wants the big fights. Thoughts?
Wow. Seriously? I'm not sure how he's going to make 135, he looks absolutely ripped at 140 without an ounce of body fat. He's going to have to drain off 5lbs of pure muscle.
It says that he has seen a doctor and he said it would be safe and could do it without losing muscle. Didn't he have to weigh in twice last time out though?
If he can make that comfortably its all well and good, because Hatton will never fight him and thats the only big fight. Far too much risk for not much reward, which is not the type of fight Ricky ever takes. I'm always skeptical about dropping down in weight. In theory it sounds a great idea with the extra strength/power you should have over your opponents, but its hard to deal with the increased speed these guys have even if you manage it healthily.
So he had trouble making 140 against Cherry? I don't see how he can do it without losing muscle, the guy can't have much body fat, and if he cuts it any more it could be dangerously low.
maybe but i cant see him givin up his title to go to a division where he has no chance of securing a big fight anytime in the next 12 months.
he is no match for hatton so good move in my opinion,there better fights for him there if he can make the weight with out loss of power.
