Mayweather's promoter Richard Schaefer said a Pacquiao promoter told him the Filipino superstar would not agree to a blood test within 30 days of the bout because of his superstition against testing.

Pacquiao and Mayweather have previously submitted, and passed, urine tests for performance-enhancing and illegal drugs supervised by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

Travis Tygart, chief executive of the United States Anti-Doping Agency, said a blood test can allow testers to detect use of energy-boosting synthetic EPO, human growth hormone and "a number of potent performance-enhancers not detectable in urine. . . . With a [30-day] window like that, you could dope to the gills and get away with it.

Tygart noted Olympic athletes are tested often and without notice. He said less than a teaspoon of blood is removed out of an average of 380 teaspoons in the normal human and that it regenerates within an hour of being withdrawn.

Blood tests, he said, can find things urine tests can't, like the use of human growth hormone, synthetic hemoglobin or blood transfusions, all of which "certainly would aid in an endurance-type event."

"Well the sanctioning bodies and the state commissions run the boxing world, not Floyd Mayweather. Who is this guy to tell us that we have to have blood tests, or urine tests, or any tests? He's just looking for a way out of the fight. He is scared, and he's just afraid that he's going to get his ass kicked. We don't work for Floyd Mayweather. We fight for the state commission, since when does the fighter make up the rules?" -roach

Don't give me that bull****, A blood sample takes seconds and it's only the initial '*****' that you feel. A tattoo takes a lot longer (we could be talking hours) and you feel the needle against your skin constantly.

I saw the ESPN spot featuring Dan Rafael and read the article as well. The Nevada State Athletic Commision needs to step in a clarify whether or not they will be in accordance with this stipulation included in the mayweather/Pac fight contract. If not, the fight will be in jeopardy. The Pac camp states that this is unmerited and unjust and that there is no reason to change the drug testing policy for this fight only. They claim that this is an unjust challenge on the integrity of their fighter and the Nevada State Athletic Boxing Commision.

in my opinion, Pac should just agree to this and move forward with the fight. If the fight negotiations are going to fall apart, it cannot be because of a refusal to take an olympic style drug test...especially if the Mayweather camp is in accordance with it.

Now, if the Nevada State Athletic Commision deems that the Olympic drug testing is not necessary, and Floyd backs out of the fight...this is unjust as well.

Floyd will then be accusing Pac directly of using performance enhancing drugs.

Quite the moral dilemma...i can understand pac's refusal from a moral standpoint, but he cannot ignore the ramifications of a drug tests refusal.

In my opinion, the Nevada State Athletic Commision needs to make a ruling on this issue and a method of drug testing shouldn't be a stipulation in the contractual fight obligations.

This will be very bad for boxing if the fight negotiations don't overcome this ridiculous and unnecessary obstacle.

th article is actually pretty good i mean they said Floyd even agreed tot he 10 million dollar fine for not making weight.

For so much money that could be made and it is a huge amount i dont believe Floyd will just let this go down the drain....somebody will bend a little.

and all Dan said was that it just doesnt look good for Pac to decline the style testing thats all.

Either way this is a terrible black eye for boxing because we cant even get two of our best fighters in the ring because of a certain style testing. It just doesnt look good for boxing at all.

u pac nuthuggers are ****in stupid. Pac had agreed to the damn test and now that the venue has been selected and every other minor detail he pulls this ****? hopefully it is just promoting the fight but if it isnt then Pac looks very suspicious. There is no way around it, saying mayweather is trying to get out of the fight cause he knows pac is afraid of needles? hahahaha u guys are by far the stupid nuthugging peices of **** I have ever seen in my life
