British Trainers

It’s an interesting British landscape at the minute, where trainers are concerned….

AJ seemingly splitting with McCracken; McGregor and Taylor leaving question marks over Davison…

If you were a young fighter and you had to have a trainer for life, what would be your order of preference?

Mine below:

1. Dominic Ingle
2. Jamie Moore
3. Rob McCracken

 

1. Shane McGuigan
2. Grant Smith
3. I’d probably just sack it off and let my dad train me.

 

There aren`t any good British trainers right now, why don`t these British fighters train with some elite foriegn trainers instead?

 

1. Adam Booth, if still interested.
2. Shane McGuigan
3. Robert McCracken. Don't forget his work as the head of the GB elite amateur squad

 

Was surprised to hear today that Adam Booth hasn’t won a world title fight with any fighters since Ryan Burnett in early 2018.

 

Booth, Fury or Tibbs.

 

Been head of GB elite amateur doesn't necessarily make u a good coach.

Personally I like Peter Fury.

 

Personally, I would choose an American over a Brit any day of the week.

I also like Andy Lee.

 

Peter Fury today historically in the years I have watched boxing Enzo Calzaghe.

 

Sugarhill & Andy Lee because I quite fancy the idea of messing about with Fury and his mates.

 

Peter Fury has the best boxing brain imo. He does not take many fighters on so won't win the most. Look at work with Savannah and Tyson. When he took Tyson on he was big underdog in a potential fight with Price. In their first fight v Rogan he made Tyson a southpaw, as he was too easy to hit prior. He wanted time to improve him defensively before he fought Orthodox. He has took on Savannah Marshall who had major confident issues and made her confident and the most complete female fighter I have ever seen. She can now do it all. She said Peter gives her things to do, that are weird and she things that will never work. But then it comes together and it works perfectly. Now she doesn't even question it.

Peter's intelligence is on another level and he is known for proper old school tactics like making the train in the rain and swimming through swamps. Builds mental toughness. All of his fighters know how to fight in the trenches, look how deep Tyson can go if he needs to.

 

The truth is that there are no decent British trainers. Most Brits prefer German trainers - Adidas, Puma - and anyone seen in public wearing Golas or Hi-Techs will become social outcasts.

Don't think you can go for wrong with any of those 3.

Adam Booth has to be properly invested in you to take you on.
