I always remember this interview with Chris Eubank and at that time in my life, i was probably at the height of my respect the year was 2008. At the 7min mark he touches on a point that us alpha males want........"Respect". Its something that money, fame, cannot really bring you essentially....its something that is earned, weather through reputation, personality and presents, but really there is not one thing that you can honestly say results in respect.

I always remember standing in a bar, girls buying me drinks. People shaking my hand, wanting to just talk to me.........

    As i just stood there........

My mate just turned to me and said in my ear.

"Look around, nobody can touch you in hear, nobody can match up to you".

It was a monumental moment, i remember nothing esle from that night and that point onwards. Well if i was to go back 4 years, the next day i would of remembered the night. But over the years the human brain, lets memories go and deletes them and puts them in the recycle bin. But some other memories and moments are kept, saved onto the hard drive, and for some reason i have always remember that one moment.

"My mind, has recognised this moment as a very important occurrence, maybe for future motivation who knows, i think my mind held onto this moment, so i would never forget what the man is about"

Funny enough i have never really thought of this moment for many years, until today. When it suddenly reappeared in my mind, i bumped into a mate of mine in town, and just opened up to him slightly.

    And said..

"I feel the respect has gone, and my attitude in certain situations is not correct, i have not delivered"

In my own mind, i nwhy the respect has gone. Because people expected allot from me, anybody and everybody who knew the man, expected big things. I have never resigned, and i still strive, i am still optimistic........

But i have been written off...

People in general need winners in their lives, not everybody can be winners............i was simply that winner in peoples lives, the who made other people feel good and positive, and i enjoyed that.

From a young age i chose to be a winner, and it has been a hard life. Anybody that makes winning the bench mark, i have learned now that your life will be allot of fails, allot of mistakes, allot disappointment.

This is some of the greatest piece of sports commontary, i have ever witnessed in any sport. Just listen to them, i will always remember that one quote by Larry Merhcant....

"If Evander Holyfield weighs 205, his heart weighs 200 and the rest of his body weighs 5"

    Something along those lines...

I used to have another saved Version of round 10 on my computer, another US version. Where the fella is shouting...

"That is one of the greatest Heavyweight rounds ever.......PERIOD"...........

    Amazing..!

If I can find the chance to find USA commentary instead of British I always take it I find. I agree I do prefer it by far.

Merchant is past it now though, and its a shame that Kellerman will become his full time replacement soon.

Well at least we had Reg Gutteridge's commentating on Hagler/Hearns and Harry Carpenters "Oh my god, he's won the tittle back at 32!"

You're so right mate & now we have these ****s actually apologising to the viewer about any so called bad language in the corners, talk about patronising, wankers!!!

I love Col Bob Sheridon with his screaming & hollering during the Chavez/Taylor 1 fight, he's way off the mark with his scoring but jeezuz he makes up for it in exciting verballs. Here in the UK we just hav'nt got that investment in real freedom of speech or real genuine opinion that can be conveyed with all true honesty, it's all so NICKY PIPER:fire

Larry i love along with Colonel Bob & Jim Lampley, ****in great & Ian Darke's the only one for me here:deal
