British World champs

    The domestic sport has strength in depth not seen this side of World War II.

    Some really resent this, and think 'their era' was stronger, but it wasn't...

    None, you literally cannot have an 'all time' great. If we did, we would know about them before they were born!

    But there is a kind of point to your observation. The one thing this era does lack is a 'mainstream' cross over star, something that other eras have had.

    If you picked 10 random people on the street, I reckon most would struggle to recognise more than 2 of the names on the list.

    Some of them still have time to become household names.

    True .... But if you look at past world champions , with the exception of Lewis, Bruno , hatton , benn, Eubank & naz most people would not know who you was on about neither...

    Because fact is that unless you are a big "charachter in some way or other, people don't know you.. Take Ricky Burns for example, fine champion at the time - not many in the street knew him (south of the border that is) because he has no major public face, good or bad..!
