What's everybody's thoughts on this? Personally I would love to see Paulie do it but ultimately I think Broner will be too strong and wear him down, can see him getting the stoppage mid-late rounds.
That's pretty much my opinion on it. Never used to like Paulie but have come round to him since he was on Ringside a year or so ago. Seemed like a humble guy, the opposite of what he is like in the build up to fights. His speed and movement have got him through in the past both of which aren't quite what they used to be. That combined with a fact that he looks slightly flabby at welter means it'll be easy for Broner. Broner is world class and Paulie never beat world class guys even at his peak. Paulie's chin should see him through to the mid-late rounds at best.
Think we'll see that although Broner is coming up more in weight, he'll look the bigger man compared to Paulie on fight night. Broner is being built as the next cash cow for his promotors, Paulie can box but he isn't getting a decision here if it goes the full 12. Would love Paulie to pull it off, can't stand Broner one bit.
when I first saw PM,that fight he had to have his hair cut,I thought he was an absolute idiot.But after seeing him a bit more and listening to his comments and commentaries he seems like a nice bright kid.Thought he was great against Senchenko.Dont think he gets past Broner,hope he doesn't take too much damage.If only he could have punched his way out of a paper bag he would be/have been absolute top notch,he did seem to have a bit more venom against Sen but I fear it won't be enough.
Behind the daft haircuts he actually is a guy who knows his **** and is one tough *******. Like you say, I wish he had a bit more pop too because he can certainly box.
totally agree he is tough,just hope not too tough for his own good.But that's why sport and boxing particularly is great, I,m sure in russia Paulie was the only one ringside who had not been told he wasn't supposed to win!!
Paulie would absolutely have to school Broner to get a points decision. De Leon clearly won yet they gave the decision to Broner so Paulie has no chance as he doesn't have the power to stop him. Broner will win on points imo.
I have man love for Mr Malignaggi and I hope with all my heart that he humbles Broner but it is a tall order. To be as successful as Paulie yet not be a concussive puncher is amazing. A tough ******* and would absolutely delight me to no end if he was to smash Broner. All we need is some magic from the Magic Man. We know Paulie can compete with the elite as he has proven so but can Broner? More than likely but we have no proof as of yet.
