He hung around for the Khan fight way too long when he could have gone on to carve out his own legacy. The whole GGG thing was purely about trying to outdo Khan who fought Canelo a few months earlier.
He took the bait from Khan when he told Kell that he needs a big name because he is unknown in the states. Kell his poor soul, jumped through every single hoop Khan dangled in front of him like a fool. If Khan had proposed he needed to fight a HW before he would consider fighting him, I'm sure Kell Brook would have been ready to schedule a fight with Joshua, that's how desperate the man was/is. It became an obsession which derailed his entire career. What Brook should have done to guarantee himself a fight with a shithouse coward like Khan, is wait around the corner from his house, wait for khan to leave and then smash him completely on street.

I doubt Kell has the brains to think of something so elaborate. My take is this - Kell knows he is FINISHED at top level, as does Eddie Hearn, and the Khan fight is his last and only chance at big money. The only problem with this is that Brook has been chasing Khan for 7 years now, in that time he could have really stepped on the gas and moved up and legitmately won a WC at 154lbs. Why why why did he hang around for so long at 147lbs (Khan was 140lbs then too....) and for someone who had other ambitions. Dumb dumb dumb.
Brook will never be the same again . Golovkin and then spence have damaged the eyes that bad that you could brook was panicking all the time the Aussie went for him. I like brook but he needs to retire. That will be the reason why ingle is not in his corner aswell
khan could easily have proposed to Kell Brook that he has to let John Fury gouge his eyes out first before fighting him and dumb ole kell would have gone through with it
