I had Brown winning comfortably, but feel that what allowed Brown to win was the very thing you dislike about his win...(and your'e not alone, I too was there and many punters around me weren't too happy with Browne's lack of 'aggression').

Other than with his jab Brown didn't land much on Toney, I cjheck this on the broadcast also and other than a good consistant jab he really wasn't putting much hurt on Toney.

But i give a lot of credit to Craig for coming up with a gameplan that I din't think a big 'dumb' whiteguy could apply to Toney, edge into range, lead, and disengage to nullify Toney's counters. I think Toney despite all the talk about him being shot could easily have run counter after counter off an opponents head if the bloke walked to Toney's strength's...just look at that head movement early...he's still got the moves, and if you let him control and dictate the pace...ugghh.

By taking away Toney's bread and butter (counterpunching) Browne actually had Toney walking down Browne for parts of the fight...at the time I was chucking because the 'bigger, stronger, young man' was fighting like the middle->Hvy instead of Toney, but hey, that's boxing.

Take away your opponents strengths and at this stage Toney's attributes are still some slick head movement and sharp counters. Not much else, so take away Toney's opportunities to counter and what you see is what you got...

Personally, I think Brown and his team were very smart, and I hope Browne (as I beleive) that he learnt more taking Toney the distance that kayoing him at any stage...you just can't buy experience like that for a developing fighter.so :goodto C.C. and team Brown from me.

Great breakdown Ecto and I agree. I didnt know Browne was associated with Craig Christian though? His trainer is Ricardo Monteleone in Freo.
