Just for once, it might have been appropriate for the arch self publicist to have said something postive. But no. On BBC News 24 last night, his remarks were a disgrace. Disrespectful to ther point of objectionable, speaking of Cooper's "bitterness" with the sport and "hatred" of Joe Bugner. It made my blood boil. Henry was an old man when Bunce made his acquaintance, it would seem. One who had lost his wife, the love of his life, and his twin brother. He was a broken man according to those who were close, and deserving of sympathy not criticism. He was a very good boxer, and dearly loved by the nation. So Steve, has the whole country got it wrong and you have got it right?
Respect is earned over time, and trashed in seconds. I am afraid that you have lost mine, trust me.

    Bunce on ESPN's site - http://www.espn.co.uk/boxing/sport/story/88406.html:

Not sure that's particularly disgraceful, unless you're just looking to be annoyed with him.

In writing, it looks better. The tone of the BBC interview was not good

Bunce got it spot on and made several good points in praise of Henry which aren't widely known.

Bunce is trying to make a point that differs from the same old **** we will read for the next few days. In his conclusion it hit home and he made a good point. Cooper is from a long lost era in many ways and his type will be missed.

There is also a bit in today's Independent and there will be a big Obit on Weds.
Watch the Cooper v Bugner film I made. You can feel the hostility.
This is not about respect or disrespect. This is about me being asked about the fighter - where else did you hear people praising his first three years and the six defeats?
I'm not going down the Brut, split glove route...the man deserves more praise than that.
This is a dangerous thread...it looks like Bunce knocking Cooper. The reality is quite different, trust me.
    Adios.

Reads like a well thought out, objective and honest piece. I can't see a problem with it.

I don't think anyone, bar the TS, thinks you were having a go at Henry, Steve. Some people get emotional when someone they respect dies and they take things the wrong way.

Opening post is a big load of ****. unnecessary ****.

at a time when people are saddened by somebodies passing away, why try and deflect attention to a journalist who gave an honest and insightful view of the people involved?
