Smalls a clown. The kid has no substance whatsoever.His fighting for an area level belt and then thinks he has the goods to challenge for a world title? He got his shot against dependable stalwart Bradley Pryce and failed miserably.He had no stamina in the later rounds and lacked the fundamentals to put a guy like Bradley away who is easier to hit than the back end of a bus. Tak made a big mistake dropping to 47.His a gym rat and has been a great addition to British boxing but at his age with his mileage and at the lower weight the poor guy had nothing left except his pride. Im not expecting Small to go anywhere domestically nor on the world scene.Right now Jamie Moore would tear him a new one.It would be good to see him in with David Barnes though.Barnes is also another welter who has failed at the last hurdle but i think his in a better class than Small.
Yes I agree tha Small is not good enough to compete at world level. His weaknesses are too glaring. 1. Poor stamina 2. Low punch output 3. Stays on the rope, and gets hit 4. Admires his own work and drops his hands, and gets hit 5. No genuine power. It will not take a top class opponent to beat him again. He has made very little improvement, if any, from the Pryce loss.
To be honest he disgusts me.The kid has talent.But imitation is the poorest form of art.If its true Spencer was training him i would have expected better. Someone needs to sit him down and drum some sense into his head.Yeah his been boxing since he was a kid but the fact is he struggled with a badly shot Tak.Taks punch resistance and famed conditioning was gone and yet Small still couldnt sit on his punches and put him away in the 3rd. He preferred to spend his time juking and feinting and surveying his work. He wont go anywhere.As soon as he steps into title contention again his going to bet beat handily.
He also said he was a big fan of Chagaev but didn't he say earlier he hadn't seen enough of him to judge? I strongly suspect he has never seen him fight. I have to say the presentation on Setanta for the boxing is rubbish. It's very admirable the fights they are putting on but they need to sort out their presentation. The presenter was constantly getting tongue tied & the cameraman couldn't decide who was supposed to be on camera.
Yeah its coverage is shocking, Bunce and the boy who interviews ringside are like laurel and hardy of boxing analysis and coverage, always slipping up. uck knows which one buncy is, the fat one I guess Setanta's Sports News is even worse
Yeah Woodhall's its only saving grace. I guess they have only seriously been broadcasting boxing over the last year or so, so hopefully it will improve, but it's free so **** it
