Can't wait for the fight tonight! Be interested to get views on these odds - I'm starting to edge towards an early stoppage. Haye's speed and power is something Ruiz hasn't face much in his recent career: Haye on Points 9/4 Haye Round 1-4 11/4 Haye Round 5-8 3/1 Haye Round 9-12 4/1 3/1 for 5-8 looks a half decent bet
Round 5-8 is the least likely scenario for a Haye win IMO.....if Haye doesnt hurt Ruiz early on then I see Haye boxing smartly in the middle rounds to build up a points lead. Despite Ruizs advance age I think Haye will be weary about Ruiz getting to him and sapping that energy away so I see him building up a healthy points lead before going for a KO. Late stoppage or points win for me....but I know **** all about betting, and my predictions are usually **** too so I dont know to be fair :good Agree with Kos about Groves on PTS though, seems a very generous price.
Good shout ... 7/4 is a decent price too The main problem betting on Haye v Ruiz is the prices ... very little value (unless you fancy Ruiz of course)
Just listening to it now and I've got a question about something Buncey said. He said that Sky got their figures wrong and thought Haye would only sell some PPV's for the Valuev fight, and nowhere near the amount it sold. He then said that this cost Sky a lot of money. Could someone please explain why this is? I'm confused.
As far as i can remember the story goes that Haye negotiated a decent cut (rumours are that he got £5 per sale) for the Valuev PPV with Sky (Sky didnt think it would sell particularly well). It sold 800,000 units (see source below) and so a rough bit of maths puts that at £4 million. Daily Telegraph 9th Nov 2009: "The Haye-Valuev fight drew a market share of 40.5 per cent on German free-to-air television ARD, the figure peaking at 8.4 million, and early indications are that the 'David v Goliath' contest captured the imagination of the British public, and may have sold up to 800,000 pay-per-view buys on Sky Box Office. That puts interest in the fight at the same level as Ricky Hatton's biggest fights."
