Burnetts team binned the IBF to avoid Rodriguez and wanted none of Tete either.... Id prefer they condensed these new WBSS cards to try and avoid the whole injury delay thing....if everyone fought at more or less same time it gives everyone same time to recover ... 2 Quarter final cards within a fortnight The semi on same card
It's strange....tete boxed in Burnettts hometown TWICE recently and there was no sign of Ryan at all....no effort to hype a potential fight between them at all.
I can't wait to I see the WBSS the Bantamwrights and it will be the best of the three divisions in the next series. Hard to pick a winner, though if I had to pick one right now I would go for Rodriquez.
He's overrated, boring to watch, and hasn't beaten anybody. Whereas Burnett is weirdly underrated, an excellent amateur - World Youth Championships Gold medalist and World Youth Olympics Silver medalist, unified world titles in the pros at a young age. He's 5 years younger than Tete, hungry, dedicated and tough, .We know that Burnett has a solid chin, Tete could well have an Indogno chin .I know who my money would be on. When it comes to fighting,an Irishman beats an African 98 times out of 100. It's incredible how successful the one city of Belfast of 400,000 people is at boxing.
When you say they're on completely different levels....do you mean Burnett is vertical and tete horizontal???.... Don't write Burnett off so quickly. Tete is largely unproven and could be found out yet.....just saying....
Tete has only had 5 fights at the weight. 2 of the last 3 he’s went the distance and obviously the other was that 10 second KO or whatever it was which is a bit of an anomaly. I like Ryan Burnett, stellar amateur career as stated above, got one of the best trainers in the game, unbeaten.
Of course scissors. Don't get me wrong, I rate tete...and he has the frame to fill out into 122 and maybe beyond. However people rushing to write Burnett off are being very premature. Ryan looks a big strong bantam with pedigree behind him. Remember tete and Rodriguez best win is Paul butler ...and Paul might ....just might...have been overrated by some ...including me. Can't wait for this wbss at 122.
