Not seen anyone mention it. Apologies if im being thick.. Saw a quick clip where Ricky seemed upset he didnt get the nod.

Anyone see it? Was it close? Is Selby finished?

    Cheers

I’ve seen varying opinions on it, some saying Selby had it, some saying Burns had it.
Selby was having his successes and probably landing 2-3 shots for every Burns shot, but they weren’t hurting Burns at all whereas Burns hurt Selby a couple of times and he had to hold on for dear life. Selby covered a lot of yards and tried to throw combos then step out of range.

Personally, I had it to Burns who was trying to get Selby out of there, whereas Selby was more about self preservation and stealing rounds.

I had Selby edging it. It was a fight of two halfs, with Selbys speed and timing building him a big lead early on and in the second half when he slowed down Ricky was landing more, roughing him up and winning most rounds. I just think Ricky ran out of rounds to win the fight. One thing for sure if that was a few years ago Ricky would have caught up with him earlier and got him out of their.

Selby either edged it or it was a draw, but not a robbery.
Still, Foster's card was a little bit wide, as this wasn't a 8 to 4 type fight.

It does show that Selby is in over his head at 135 like expected.

Scored it 6-6, actually a better fight than I was expecting.

Didn’t formally score it but strongly feel Shelby won clearly. Ricky has to accept its tune to hang em up.

Selby won the fight. I don’t want to see Burns in the ring again - I hope he does the right thing and retires, but sadly he probably won’t.

Could they do a Crolla with him and give him a farewell fight with a belt ??? Interim something or other maybe?
Maybe on the under card to Taylor's next fight? He's been a great servant to the sport. I hope he doesnt keep fighting too long. Never stopped in the Pro and game as they come

The fight was as boring as expected with 2 faded fighters slapping their way through 12 rounds.

I had it 115-113 Selby. He won the first 5 rounds on his jab and circling on the outside where Burns was struggling to close the distance. Burns eventually managed to in the 2nd half of the fight as Selby began to tire (maybe going up 2 weight classes instead of 1 has something to do with that) but Selby did enough to take the win.

Was a boring fight. I respect them both for throwing hands constantly but honestly it was like watching 2 kids fight, none of them punches looked liked they hurt or had any power.

I wanted Burns to win but I had It 115-113 for Selby

Thought it would be no different to Burns v Crolla and it delivered a pongfest as expected - a real atmosphere killer of a fight.

Burns has bored me to death since he broke his jaw versus Raymundo Beltran and Selby has bored me to death his whole career.

Bit like a Fat Sam team playing a Tony Pullis team at football - you know you are getting a 1-0 either way at best with very little goalmouth action.

I commend you on your stamina mate enduring a full 36 minutes of turgid viewing.

Was watching in a bar. Told the mates how the fight would progress and the result before nipping out for a quick meal. Came back 10 mins after the fight ended and they were so impressed with my boxthing knowledge.
